“Getting Ready for 2020’s Unprecedented Year-End”

NOVEMBER 23, 2020 ~~~ Two Hours ~~~ Two RCH’s ~~~ Virtual Evening Event ~~~ 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm ~~~

with NCPA Member & retired APA Education Director

James Medlock, CPP        Payroll Compliance Educator            Medlock & Associates

2020 will have a year end unlike any other which payroll professionals have ever encountered. With the extensive COVID-19 legislation and the Presidential Memorandum, the IRS has made significant changes to Forms 941 and W-2 reporting requirements. As if changing Forms W-2 and 941 were not enough, 2020 saw the implementation of a newly formatted Form W-4 and final regulations to support the new form. During this session, you will learn how the:

  • COVID-19 legislation’s tax credits and employer social security tax deferral impact the completion of Form 941.

  • Presidential Memorandum deferral of employee social security tax impacts the completion of Form 941.

  • COVID-19 legislation’s tax credits require additional reporting on Form W-2.

  • New 2020 Form W-4 and the IRS’ final regulations change W-4 processing procedures.

After 25 years with the American Payroll Association, Jim Medlock retired and now concentrates his efforts on providing continuing education to payroll professionals to ensure their organizations meet the various federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory compliance.  While on APA’s staff, Jim shared his knowledge and experience with payroll professionals in teaching and preparing materials for APA’s educational programs. Jim has over 40 years of payroll and accounts payable experience.
