NCPA would like to know if you are interested in becoming certified in Payroll as either a CPP – Certified Payroll Professional, or an FPC – Fundamental Payroll Certificate.

If we receive enough interest, the next Study Group will be held beginning in July for five weeks, every other Saturday.


Cost – Chapter Members – $75       (all participants must be a paid member of NCPA)

1 Year – NCPA 2019 Membership cost – $60 (includes two colleagues from the same company or organization) through June 30, 2019.  July 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019, $30.

Materials needed for Study Group –

American Payroll Association’s (APA) 2019 Payroll Source textbook, large binder, hand calculator, notepaper, package of index cards

The Study Group will be approved by the APA and the instructors will be APA certified (CPP/FPC) NCPA chapter members

Study Group Participants will receive –

Weekly PowerPoint’s on each section, test-taking tips, testing on each session, Certificate of Completion

Goals –

  • Completion of this 32.5 hour course to acquire mastery in the field of payroll practices and laws
  • Enjoy the comradery and support of fellow Study Group participants and instructors
  • Gain the confidence to sit for the CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Professional) exam
  • You are not required to sit for the CPP/FPC exams but you will be fully prepared to do so if you choose to register during a later study group session
  • Attend NCPA’s monthly Payroll/HR education luncheons with speakers presenting on topics that empower member’s with the most up-to-date federal and/or state legislation or practices
  • Obtain connections to a network of payroll professionals from various types of industries

CPP/FPC Exam Registration:   July 9 – October 11, 2019  

Exams:   September 14 – October 12, 2019

Whether or not you wish to become certified, this five week course will cover all aspects of payroll in various industries!  You are not required to sit for the exam to certify in order to participate.  The Study Group’s location is TBD.
