Welcome to the Northern Colorado Payroll Association Website!   

In our monthly chapter meetings we strive to provide you with the most current information possible. The speakers that we invite to present to our chapter members are professionals who are experts in their field. They come equipped with the most up-to-date legislative, payroll, or HR-related information to help make your payroll efforts more efficient and precise.  Please direct all questions to ncpchapter@gmail.com.

Monthly Business/Speaker Luncheon Meetings

We invite you to come join us for a delicious catered speaker luncheon the third Thursday of each month. The cost of your first chapter visit/lunch is only $10!  Subsequent meeting costs will be $25.00 for Colorado APA chapter members.  The Non-member cost is $35.00.  An R.S.V.P. is required to ncpchapter@gmail.com. Monthly meetings are normally held at the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, 5400 Stone Creek Circle, Loveland, CO.  The business luncheon meeting will start promptly at 11:30 a.m.  Speakers will present from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.  On-line, remote participation costs are the same as above.  Please request a Microsoft Teams invitation in your R.S.V.P.

Chapter Membership

2020 CPP/FPC Certification Study Group! Now Offered On-line or In Person from 2/8/20 thru 3/28/20. 6 RCH’s Offered Per Session!

Registration is now closed to students. 

The American Payroll Association has approved up to 6 RCH’s Per Session for FPC/CPP Certified Mentors/Teachers.  Mentor’s cost $100 if not teaching a Section/Sections throughout the Study Group.

Federal & State Tax Calculations with the 2020 W-4 Form

The 2020 Form W-4 is here! Do you understand how it impacts both federal and state income tax calculations? In this session, you will learn how the information from the Form W-4 is used to calculate FITW, how states using the W-4 have changed their SITW calculations, and we will address how to explain how the calculation changes impact your employees.


Jim Medlock is a Payroll Compliance Educator with Medlock & Associates after recently retiring from the American Payroll Association where he was Director of Education and Training for over 25 years. While on APA’s staff Jim shared his knowledge and experience with payroll professionals over nearly 30 years teaching and preparing materials for APA’s educational programs. Jim was the APA’s Payroll Man of the Year in 1991. He was also the Colorado Payroll Person of the Year in 1993. Jim served a two-year term as the APA’s representative on the IRS’s Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC). He chaired APA’s Certification Board. He is a member of the APA’s Government Relations Task Forces IRS Issues and State Issues subcommittees.
