TOPIC:  Proper Documentation, Investigations, and . . . When Should I Contact an Attorney?

Payroll and Human Resources professionals often wear many hats in an organization. One of the most important skills needed for such a role is “issue spotting.” Too often simple statements or actions by employees lead to liability for the company because someone did not pick up on the clues; spot the issues. This presentation will discuss how routine day-to-day actions can escalate to a full-blown fire drill.  You will be provided with tips for preventing the fire in the first place. After all, fire prevention is something we can all get behind…

Nicholas Haynes is an Employment Law Associate Attorney at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in Denver.  The firm provides advice and counsel to employers in Colorado, California and nationwide as part of a national practice group.  Nick was previously a Managing Attorney at Employer’s Council, Inc.
